I imported my Fiat 500F over to the US and the RORO transporters abused the poor car.

The starter was burned out and now the starter cable has broken. I had the starter replaced but subsequently, the starter cable snapped.

I have purchased the new starter cable (for a old model 126, as I swapped the old 500 motor for the 650 of the 126) and the cable has arrived.

There are a lot of parts in the starter cable kit that I am not sure where they go. I cannot find any diagrams or sections in the workshop manual that covers how to install the starter cable. Does anyone have a description of what I should do to properly install the new starter cable?

many thanks

hi, and welcome to FF,

sounds as if the 126 wiring info is what you may need,
gadge may have such info,

Charlie

Thanks, I will try gadge and see if he has the diagram.

Does your new starter motor have a solenoid?

Sorry Cheech67 I'm afraid im am of zero help to you. I don't have a diagram available online that I can post to you and my 126 has the later key operated starter so I'm not familiar with the pull starter system at all however there is a haynes manual available for the air cooled version - ebay has them for, like $1 and if your running a 126 650 engine then it may well be handy to have :)

Hope you sort it (y)
