Yes, my punto is revving by its self, ive just done a full oil change including oil filter as it was cracked and leaking.

I think it has something to do with the throttle as i can lift it up with my foot and it takes a while but does usually die down, a few times it has cut out when revving to about 3000 then just cuts off and i have to start the car again.

Can anyone help...

take airfilter box off
see if pipe from manifold is in good condition no splits and that it fits tightly onto underneath of airbox
also the rubber seal on throttle body put this on airbox so airbox fits tight on throttle body
refasten both bolts and spring connecter at front

oops caps .......going home work dun

I will give this a go.. the rubber seal from the airbox to the throttle is broken... that wont help..

This indeed worked, there was part of the rubber seal from the airbox to the throttle stuck between the throttle cable stopping it from going back to neutral.
