Hi All

l'm having trouble with the fuel getting to the filter, but having stripped down the pump, which all seems in order the fuel only goes half way up the sight
Could it be the rod which activates the pump ?

Hi Jerry welcome to the forum. I assume the filter you refer to is an in line one between the fuel pump and the carburettor?

When you say it only goes halfway up the sight, do you mean that the filter is only half full when the car is running?

I have an in line filter situated between the pump and carb and when the engine is not running it is completely empty as the fuel will fall back out of sight. When the engine is running on tick over sometimes it is half full, sometimes completely full. When the car is being driven, as it is a mechanical pump the engine speed will obviously be a lot higher RPM and the in line filter will be full as the pump is pumping much quicker, as obviously it demand is greater.

If it is not causing any problems it is nothing to worry about, it is completely normal.

Hi Tony
Thanks for the info , l was not really precise with my first post , when the car is idling it seems to be starved of fuel, but once l give it some the filter fills with fuel and runs well
Thanks again ........Fix , lt , Again. Tony ...........Fiat
