Hello people, just thought I'd say hello coz I'm a newbie and owning my first fiat, stilo, need some advice tho please, the stilo is on a 55 plate and 1.4 , it's on 52000 miles and got it cheap but with know history, would you recommend a cam belt change yet or would it be ok for a few more thousand miles, cheers

hello, and welcome to FF,
difficult to say.., as it Could be 9 years old..!!,

personally.., I would undo some of the belts plastic covers and have a peek,
if you can still read the writing on the rear of belt.. it hasn't done much and should be good for a couple of years,

otherwise it's worth investing £300 'ish on a belt, pulley and waterpump change..
better than a trashed engine,

36k miles or 36 months is what the belt manufacture revised them to, should be ok sticking to 36 months or 50k miles (which ever is sooner) which is what I do.

If you don't know when it was done get it done ASAP, as in yesterday! Also get the water pump changed at the same time (y)
