Hi Guys newbie here just like to say hi to all.
Ive just purchased an x19 and have started its restoration,when i got the car the engine was out and was told its a 1500 with a four speed box, i find this a little strange as i researched it and can only find models with 5 speed boxes on the 1500`s. Any tips on how i can find out what size engine i have?

I guess the numbers on the engine block would be useful? Im not sure of any tell tale signs but someone more knowlegable would probably know some.
What year is it? Looking at the photos it has the 1300 bumpers, chrome trim, wing mirrors etc... so maybe its just had a 1500 engine installed without the 5 speed.

Im thinking the same purf, engine number didnt match the compliance plate, so it could be a 1500, i wasnt sure if the four speed boxes fit on to them, anyway the gerbox that came with it bolts on ok. i guess i will find out when its all in, fingers crossed it all works .
