I've had every kind of car except one of the small convertible genre. I decided to buy a commuter car because my Bronco sucks too much gas despite the fact that I love it. I found this 81 spider in a guys garage sitting since ~2007. He said it would start and die and would not stay running when he gave up but assured me it he did drive it home when it was parked 6 years ago.

Last Saturday I dragged it home (we literally dragged it out of his garage, the brakes were frozen and the tires were dry rotted and flat) on a trailer and started going through it. I bought it for 800-, + new tires ~200, + new battery ~100. I went through it and did a full diagnostic and determined it needs an ECU. Just ordered it for ~200. I also flushed the tank and fuel lines, yanked the bumpers and got the brakes to release etc. That was my first 8 hrs with the car last weekend. As soon as the computer shows up I hope to hear it run. I'll update as the project develops. I think I'm going to enjoy it, they always looked like fun and I've never even been in one. The closest thing to this I've owned was a 914 that I actually loved. Hope this thing grows on me. Wait until I paint it!
