Hello all, new to the forum and first post.
Grande Punto 1.4 turbo multijet owner.

For a while now, the air temperature on my dashboard has been flickering up and down, dipping into the negatives (considering the summer we've had), and recently is just floating between 3-10celcius..

clearly a fault, but where is the themometer kept and how is this issue fixed?

appreciate the help and advice thanks.

I don't think you are! :p

On a more helpful note, I've had the odd spurious reading from mine but on the next engine re-start its sorted itself out. I put it down to the battery at the time (it was winter).

note 1: explain your craziness?

note 2: ye ive found it just goes after you turn engine off for a bit.. is it a sign the battery is dieing?

He's crazy the diesels come in 1.3 or 1.9 variants (later 1.6) is what he is picking up on....

Before you fork out for a battery get the battery tested and the battery earth cable....... Any problems starting? Power steering or abs lights flashing mileage?

Shouldn't that read 'isn't crazy' Andy?
Spend too much time on the forum and you start thinking its clever to pick people up on trivial little things like there not being a 1.4 multijet.

Anyway; there is no proven link between battery health and the temperature problem, don't go forking out on a new battery yet. I was just saying that I've experienced a similar problem and that its sorted its self out. It may possibly have been a weak battery but it's just speculation.
