Greetings from Dublin. Hows it goin Lads and Ladies,

My Marea weekend, '02, 1.6 failed the NTC (mot) today on worn front anti-roll bar bushes, and 'advanced' corrosion (ffs) on a rear brake hose. I made it home funnily enuf to tell the tale.
Can I do these jobs in my drive handily enough? I have tools, (have done brake pads, head gasket, water pump and other stuff on other cars b4) although not done either of these before.
Thanks for any feed back my fellow Fiat owners..

I did my rear brake lines with jackstands and without removing the tank. Cut the existing ones near the connector, heated ith with small blowtorch, grabbed the upstream connector with visegrips (one was rounded so linewrench was no good) and used 6-point socket on the old one.
Cut lines untill you get them off (small hands do wonders between the body and tank, you can also go topside from the fuelpump flap).
I got copper pipes premade to lenght with connectors and just routed and installed them.

Mine was 155 20v weekend so no rear brake compensator. If you got one, there is littlebit less room to play with.

For anti roll bar bushings see:

Your 1.6 does not have a rear brake compensator, it is done through the same system as the abs, fiat call it the EBA (electronic brake apportioner) in their manual.

My rear brake lines were very badly corroded next to the wheels and it is very easy to renew them by careful re-routing to avoid going over the tank.

Good luck:)
