I tried that and kettles of boiling water. But I suppose a1 degree Scottish temperature ain't the best

The joys of motoring, just woke up to fine my nearside rear light is half full of water and all the bulbs have blown, actually 1 has smashed.

It's been full of condensation numerous times and needs to be dried out but it's getting on my nerves now.

Jumped online and bought a new cluster, 20 quid and should be here tomorrow.

Is anyone else noticing that during the ... 3 or 4 hours of daylight we now have you realise how manky your car is? It's actualy embarrassing (n)

yo, I just replaced both my front headlights and one rear light because of moisture. Fine now tho. And yeah, I drive along the m8 everyday embarrassed when I see the dirt on the rear window. Shameful. Move to Miami? Lol

Oh a know mate. Where about you from / heading too then?

It's when the sun hits it the whole back window is boggin' it's a never ending battle sadly. Washing her tomorrow though so be clean for 12 hours hopefully lol

heading from livingston (eliburn) into edinburgh for work. where about you from?

oh yeah, i spend half my time trying to keep it clean these days, plus i live in a top floor flat so its not exactly fun climbing five floors every fifteen minutes to refill bucket lol. im going to try and DIY my alloys gloss black this weekend and fit mud flaps so hopefully the dirt on lower part of car wont be as obvious

I'm from Motherwell and head into Glasgow for work. Yeah I'm mid-terrace so not as bad with the bucket refill I must admit.

I'm going to plastidip mine's black tbh, just seems the best colour for this weather and peels off when I want silver alloys for summer.

how easy is plasti dip to apply? That's a good idea, altho what kind of finish do U get generally, gloss or matte?

It's an in between finish sort of. Looks east as pie really, watch some YouTube vids and you'll be a believer in no time haha!!

As said above if you just use Plasti-Dip alone it will come out as a matte/satin.
If you want a more glossy finish you will need to put on a couple of coats of "Glossifier" pretty much a Plasti-Dip version of a clear coat.(y)

Hope this helps

Edit: look on You-Tube for dipyourcar.com to see all of their videos might be of some use:)

cheers, il see how I get on this weekend then and get back to U's

Did you ever get round to that Plastidip wheel thingy then mate?

Sorry not been posting too much recently guys!

Car's been a whitewash recently honest to freaking god! Managed to get myself 3 punctures tyres over the festive period along with a flooded rear nearside cluster.

So need to save up and get myself some really good rubber, stuff I had was what I got when I picker her up from the garage, Autogrip! Do not buy these, they're utter ****!

The rear cluster always had some condensation in it, but I jumped in the other morning and got warning lights all over the dash, basically the water was half way up the thing, all the bulbs shattered, and rusty behind the connectors.

Hello Mr Fiat dealership come on, I've got lube (£74) for a whole new unit. Either way it was delivered in 2 hours and fitted in 2 minutes so all sorted!

The misses was also nice enough to get me a DAB stereo for the car too, what an absolute ****ing bitch these are to fit! I've never had to fit a stereo where it won't power on without disconnecting the fag lighter and splicing the live wire! Utter punch up the arse!

Either way it's all fitted now, only problem was the stupid DAB antenna, there was no way it was going on the roof, routed the cable through the dash, under the floor and into the boot, perfect signal, out of sight and out of mind, keeps me happy and I now have all my Rock Radio and Planet Rock 'til my hearts content. Oh and iPhone compatibility at last!

Only thing I've got in the forefront just now is simply a new interior light so it's all blue to match the paint and that's about it.

I've actually run out of ideas right now, and finance sadly!

Anyone got any idea's what else can actually be done that would at least suit my paint etc?

Hello mate just reading through your thread, your GP looks lovely mate really nice indeed.

Regards

Stephen

Cheers man I'll need to get some current shots up to be honest! Just been lazy with all this crap cold weather I can't be gassed hoovering and cleaning it up for a couple of snaps to be honest!

One idea I do have is getting the alloys touched up, I've been considering Plastidipping them myself and if I get to something I'm keen on then getting them done fully refurbed, powder coated and painted.

Also thinking of an induction kit but I've heard so many mixed bags of reviews I'm struggling to justify even just the 70 quid asking price.

Also considered getting strut braces fitted but they're a nightmare to find and don't know if I'd notice any difference until I bin the Eibach Sportline Springs in favour of some coilies but god knows what that'll be.

Still wanting to the the footwell lighting too but I'm thinking with blue overhead lighting would blue footwell be a bit too 'blue' for show?

Reading through my posts I do some amount of yapping, to myself mainly I reckon, anyone who takes the time to read all of them deserves a ****ing gold medal!:worship:

Getting the car cleaned out tomorrow so I'll get some recent pictures up. Plus finally replaced that rubbish interior overhead light with some nice deep blue LED's so set it off with the paint work!

Decided to nip out and get a quick picture. Being as it's on a phone it's lens is dull, the interior is alot brighter than the picture would suggest.

Just a nice little touch, personalisation and only cost 2 quid so I'm pleased with the result!

Next step will be running more wire and getting the footwell lighting done since that's another cheap way of making the car my own!

Interior light bulbs?

Mind me asking what size they are to replace. I'm after a red one like this if i can, although blue will suffice as secondary choice, but have no clue where to start looking at size they are. I havn't been able to remove the light cover yet

To remove the light cover, complete brute force and ignorance, seriously, it just pulls out, simple really.

And it's a Festoon bulb you're after, the one's I got were blue LED canbus so no error's. They come in all colours though, and only £2 off eBay!

Only problem I had was they're about 1.5mm shorter than the OEM one's, simple enough fix though, little flat head screwdriver behind the contacts and bend it in slightly, problem solved.

Whole thing I done in the complete darkness with a phone's light in about 5-10 minutes!(y)

alls you had to do was twist the red and yellow wires together, bullet connector on to it then put it into the red or yellow single wire (cant remember which) and it would work, simple. most cars are like that now, be grateful its not an old french car citreons especially they have multiplex wiring which can be a ****er if you mess that up ive seen people locked out their vehicles and not been able to open it other than smashing the window! as for dab ariel should of got a glass mount which sits inside your car on the windscreen near invisible other that a little black box, run it down behind your panneling.
