Hello everyone and nice to see a lively forum for Fiat owners!
My name is Richie, I live on the Wirral in the UK, just a few miles across the Mersey River from Liverpool.
I am the very proud owner of a 2008 registered, 500 Sport in Crossover Black metallic which I collected on Monday. It's got the 1.3 Multijet turbodiesel and half leather black interior. I traded my 2004 Focus ST170 in for the Fiat, main reasons being the need for much better fuel economy and cheap tax (sad sign of the times) but also the need for something with character!
I've owned a lot of sporty cars over the years - Ford Puma 1.7, Focus ST, Focus Zetec, Pug 206GTi, sporty Clios, etc. I am a petrolhead through and through and cars are a huge part of my life.
I know I've only had it a few days but so far the Fiat is exceeding all expectations and proves that motoring on a budget is not miserable at all! Far from feeling downsized and shortchanged after the fairly luxurious ST, the 500 feels more upmarket and homely. I've had my fun with speed, now it my time to chill and enjoy the view...
Anyway, some pics to share
'He's' been christened Gino, and my neighbour Alison who has a 2010 500C Lounge 1.2. We call them 'Ying and Yang' when parked outside
Look forward to getting to know the forum and enjoy the cheerful fun of the 500!
Cheers!
Richie
