I downsized from a Mondeo after a Muppet HGV driver clipped the front wing.
So I now have an Emerald Green - though I'm sure there is a proper Fiat name for the colour - '94 Cinquecento SX with 55k on the clock.

I am a little disappointed with the fuel consumption, as I'm only averaging 46mpg. :( Is this normal, or am I being optimistic? Shame there is no Power steering, but many of my past cars didn't - as I've been driving since 1971.

Past Fiats have been a 127 and a 128 back in the 80's
. What has surprised me are how good the headlights are for such a tiny car - a friend described it as a shopping trolley. Which is about how much one can fit it the boot:D

Have problem with the reverse - which won't engage. I looked elsewhere on the forum and have a few ideas. Luckily I've till March till the MOT runs out and I'm not even sure if no reverse is a pass or fail item?? Other wise it is small enough to find parking spaces without needing reverse and most Supermarket have parking where one can drive in and then out with needing reverse; and the turning circle also is helpful too.

I will also need to buy a trolley jack and wheel wrench as the jack and wrench was missing.

Other wise I'm quite taken with the little car.

Hey! glad your pleased with it!(y)

46MPG sounds good to me, When you think its a car you can pick up for a few hundred you cant get to much better!

Iv had 3 Cinquecentos now and gearbox's arnt one of there best qualities,
Try adjusting the clutch, can make the gear changes alot more slik, also check the mounds for wear or brakage.
(Obviusly make sure your totaly stoped before trying to engage reverse and dont be to violent)
I like the green ones!:slayer: Get some piccys up :D
