Bought my 59 Plate 165T sport from Fiat Dealer in Telford, brilliant service.
6 weeks later Turbo Failure and threw bits of turbo into engine, car taken to local Dealer Fiat Piccadilly, only to be told that they think car has been fitted with tuning mods at some point so warranty void, implied it was me so not very happy.dealer have said i can pay for repair !!!!!

Car is great,my local dealer and Fiat not so,4 days without a car and warranty that i paid for, been in touch with fiat head office but no one works weekend, looks like im hiring a car.

no wonder fiat has a bad name.

Hang on a minute! People are allowed to have a rest at the weekend if thats ok with you? Fiat does not have a bad name, no more no less than other manufactures of equal standing.

If you are seeking help over this (not really sure what you are after beside a chance to rant about Fiats....on a Fiat forum?) then you must understand we need to know both sides of the story. How do we know the garage hasn't found a modification that voids warranty?

I would go back to the selling garage at this stage.

wow r u kidding? think about it if you buy a brand new tv and you open it up after a week to see how it works and break the seal, then 6 months later it breaks and you send it back to get fixed they wont fix it as the seals broke and then it would be your own stupid fault for opening it.

and it seems that its your own stupid fault for not checking that the car was standard, ive just joined this site but i can honestly say i love fiats, just like 99.9% of people on here do, if you want people to agree with you get yourself onto the ford forum (y). if not edit your post and say that you cant believe that you have bought a modified car then people on the forum will give you advice on what to do about it(y).

im sure your a nice guy, and i understand your angry but its not fiat who you should be angry with its the garage that sold you the car, and regards to it breaking down i bet you that its because who ever has been messing around with the engine hasnt got a clue "just like if i was to modify mine"

Thanks for the abuse guys!!!

i was enquiring if anyone else had any problems with this engine ?

I am a fiat fan, thats why i went from buying Mercs to Good Looking Fiats,The car was an ex Area managers car, sold through a Fiat Dealer,

The original Fiat Area manager did not tamper with the car,nor the supplyng dealer, nor myself,i can only presume the heads of the screws mounting the turbo to the engine were mangled at the factory.

As an Electrical Engineer myself,i take offence that it must be the owners fault, could it be the car was not assembled correctly ??

my gripe is with the dealer and fiat for not rectifying the problem straightaway,or even supplying a car whilst they investigate, the list price of this car with all the option when new was £22k,not a bargain runabout.

The dealers top engineer said it could be the blue headlight lamps that caused the problem, until i pointed out they were factory fit Xenons !!

We can do that but we prefer a donation first;)

NOW you have supplied more facts on the 'issue' at hand here we might be able to give better advice. One thing though is a 'courtesy car' is just that, no one has the right to one while there's is getting fixed however a dealer should try and provide alternative transport if possible but there may be a small insurance fee.

Anyway back on topic...so it was the turbo mounting bolts at fault here or (as you stated earlier) bit of the turbo went into the engine?

i could donate a sick Bravo Sport, apparantly the fault is that the turbo has failed, but the turbo shows signs of the being removed,ie the bolt heads are damaged, the ECU also shows zero errors since Oct 2009 ????? strange as the car was registered in Dec 09,could this mean that the car has just had no errors,or is this a sign of a tampered with ECU ???

Any idea ??
