I have a Qubo fitted with the standard Blaupunkt 2250 Mp3/B&Me Head Unit.
This has no pre-outs for sub/amps/line drivers etc and i'm not even sure how to find out what the output voltage is (All I know is it chucks out 4x30w)

Questions are:

1. Will I need to change the head unit to use the above mentioned power boosting items? and if so can this be done and keep original dash layout including console display?

2. Do I have to use a line driver to boost the output or can I just wire straight accross to the amps?

As you can tell i'm a total newb, with big idea's and some cash set aside for the job.
I already have 200w replacement speakers for the doors, rear shelf and 100w tweeters for the dash -all installed but on standard system.

I now wish to add in, 2X1000w 4ch amps (Sony).

First amp is for main/original speaker fitting, second is supposed to run off a second battery install in the boot connected to a custom made fibrglass roofspace install over rear seat; Qubo has loads of headroom.
Second install consists of 1x 8" Auna 600w sub and 2x 6.5" 200w Fusion encounters along with a 14" drop-down monitor with a DVD Player (this has power and monitor works but no sound connections yet).

Can anyone advise me on the kit i'll need to stitch it all together?
A wiring diagram would be really handy?

This whole thing is driving me mad, to have come this far and not be able to finish it :bang:

Hi - I realise this post didn't attract any answers and it's been a while....

Did you suceed with your project? I'm trying to figure out what/ how I can fit in my front doors if you've got any tips.

Thanks

Mario

Hi. Only just looked at this as I don't come here that often.
Install was a relative success although somewhat different to original plan.
Ripped out blaupunkt unit in favour of ripspeed DV720.
Had to buy conversion kit and (brave pill req'd) "jigsaw" a sizeable chunk out of the top of the dash to fit it all.
Looks perfect though and fits like a glove.
This gave me a 7" TV in the dash - I then ran cabling for two 9" TV's in the rear under the rubber floor under the passenger seat.
Also ran cables to the boot for the 2 Farad power capacitor which operates the 1000w amp which is in the boot and not yet connected to anything.
8" 600w sub is still unfitted but in progress - Placed 300w 5.75" Fusion components in the front doors and changed fiat tweeters out also for fusion items.
In the rear I actually found 4.5" 250w FLI bi-convex carbons fitted straight in. Sounds great and looks standard at the mo... The only massive drawback is that I have sacrificed Blue & Me, dash display and steering wheel controls.:D

Hi,

I recently bought a 2009 Qubo and want to upgrade the stereo so I can use bluetooth to play music off my iPhone 6.

Was it impossible to use the steering wheel controls or did you simply not connect them for whatever reason?

might go for a Pioneer Car Play head unit or just a basic head unit with Bluetooth.

is it correct that the door speakers will take 10cm speakers?

I'll probably replace the speakers too.

thanks!
