Hello,
I bought a new Fiat 500 in June last year- took delivery in September.
I have about 7000 miles on the clock and after about 5000 I noticed a petrol smell inside after a longish trip. I'm a bit busy and a bit lazy about taking it to the dealership which is quite a way away. Wondered if anyone has any ideas?

Also, does anyone else with the semi automatic find the shift up from 2nd into third a bit of an issue?

The car has done quite a few long runs (about 200k in a weekend every other weekend in the first five months to visit a friend) and now mostly does short journeys. I have exceeded myself as a newly singleton and have worked out how to:

a: lift the bonnet (after quite a lot of help from some RAC guys in the middle of snow season when the wiper fluid ran out)

b: refill the wiper fluid (see above- in fact I did this at the petrol station today, having lifted the bonnet ALL BY MYSELF)

c: actually advise several other brand new fiat owners just how to unlock then relock the petrol cap for their first refill (it is a familiar picture)

d: actualy have a man flash and wave at me in his new fiat the other day- is this something I need to be doing? are we part of a club?
