Hi All,
Just wanted to say hello to the Fiat community here on this forum. I'm a Fiat owner that stumbled across this site so I decided to register.
I will eventually post some pics of my ride and hopefully there are other members on this forum that have the same car I do so we can exchange information.
I have a '72 Fiat Dino 2400 Coupe that has been in my hands for 10 years now. My uncle purchased the car in Italy and brought it over to the U.S. in the late seventies. I was only about 8 yrs-old when the car made its way here, but I immediately fell in love with the engine sound. Just MUSIC!
I can remember hearing my uncle drive the car away as I stood at the window or at the sidewalk of our home and I would simply listen to the exhaust note as he drove off. I was always eager to take a ride in the Dino and simply thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
The car is now mine, but it is in need of a major restoration to the body and interior. Notorious rust along the door bottoms, trunk lid, and in the air box just below the wipers. The seats, carpet, dash pad, and visors need to all be redone.
The drivetrain is in better shape, but could stand a nice detailing. The car runs fairly well and I do use it sparingly. However someday, I would love to restore it to the "like new" condition it deserves.
I'm also a fan of the Fiat 500 and 124 spyders.
