Purchased my punto 8 months ago best value motoring ever fantastic drive very impressed.
Just developed first problem just drove out of my drive changed into 2nd gear and everything went tight trying to change either into 3rd or back into 1st
have taken the cover of the gear stick and some of the plastic holding the gear stick in place seems to be missing my thought is that the small plastic housing has dropped into the gearstick and is preventing the stick from moving.
Any one had the same problem and if so what’s the cure?

Any chance you could get a pic of the bit you thinks broken off?

Have you tried disconnecting the selector cables at the gearbox end and then checking to see if the movement is back?
