I recently purchased 2 1970 850 spiders, one with the exterior panels in really good shape but the pans rusted out and the interior completely ruined (it even had moss growing on the seats!) and one that would start and drive for a bit but was (and is still) having idling issues as well as oil pressure issues. I got the driveable one almost home (with a little help from a buddy and his trusty tow-chains!) before it completely **** out on me and pushed it into my garage where I'm hoping to get it back up and running before too long because I have nothing else to drive to work. I put it up on blocks so I could get under it and see just how bad the undercarriage is and wow... if I had been able to get all the way under it I might have thought twice about buying it in the first place. it needs new pans on both sides, the passenger side kicker panel is completely rotted away and the drivers door is crap. That being said, I tore the back off it for easier access to the engine and really got into it. I pulled the drivers door off and got to the tedious task of grinding out all the rust. pulled the seats and most of the interior out and got another surprise, right below the passenger seat I could see into the cross beams under the car... not pretty. Now on to my question... Where in the hell is the oil filter on this thing????!!! I've been all over this car from stem to stern and top to bottom and I have yet to find it... On the left back side of the engine I have... well something, that looks like it needs 2 hoses attached to it but I've not a clue as to what those hoses might be and what they could be for. If anyone could point me in the right direction until my manuals get here it'd be much appreciated!! Regards,
Jason
