:worship:when i got my punto, (obviously you check it over before you buy!!! NOT) well i lifted the bonet to check oil, water.. i had to put in 3.5ltrs of new oil before it showed on the stick thingy, and the whole of the engine block is plasteded with old oil.

i think i may have to change the rocker cover gasket, is this a hard job?

also i would like to have the engine steam cleaned, but i've heard horror stories from people who had it done.... is it safe?

i will be greatful for any advice.

the rocker cover gasket is probably the easiest thing you can do maintance wise on the punto, its just a case of taking off the airbox, undoing a few bolts and taking the rocker cover off and putting a new gasket on! welcome btw.
