HI ALL, i am new to this forum and would like to hello to every1 on here

i have a punto MK3 2003 53 reg, 1.2 petrol, 4 door, manual,

the problem is that the engine check light has come on?
i had a diagnostic check done, and it said i have a failed LAMBDA O2 sensor,
and also im only getting around 25/27 mpg!!! could the lambda sensor be the cause of using extra fuel? will changing the LAMBDA turn the engine check off?

and the other problem is the airbag light has come on!!!
can somone please please please help me,

Yes a Lambda fault will bring the light on and affect the MPG. Where abouts are you?

Lambda should cure it.As for airbag its dealer only as it will probably require new loom section...dont panic its not expensive.

hi o.k thankyou every1, so where can i get this lambda sensor from?

can i use a NON genuine lambda sensor? as fiat have quoted £144.56 + vat
just for lambda,

ive seen some on ebay for around £30 but will these be any good??

sorry i keep asking questions im just really stressed out.
and also dont have much money at the moment.

sorry forgot to mension is there any d.i.y cheks i can do to see if the airbag light turns off? i was reading other posts and it mensioned someting about the seatbelt tensioner under the driver seat, and also a air bag on/off key????? but my seatbelts are working fine?

can any1 tell me what to check for please?

as for the lambda sensor should i avoid long jurneys?
as i was giong FROM MANCHESTER TO GRIMSBEY? about 120 miles each way.

cuold i use a non genuine fiat lambda sensor? or a used one?

Personally I would only use genuine but its your choice.

thanks, would a non genuine do same job? or shoul i just get a used genuine one? as i am on a tight budget being only 21 and made redundant from my job, i have verry little to spend.

aftermarket sensor will work but you pay for what you get.
