The rear trailing arm bushes on my Multipla JTD 105 SX need changing. I know you can get an exchange arm with the new bushes fitted ~£85 a side, but then it means removing & fitting the whole suspension arm. Replacement bushes are ~ £35 each.
On a few previous cars I have been able to change the bushes in situ. It means removing the old one & pressing in the new one but this can be done with a threaded bar & a small steel plate / large penny washer.
Has any one tried this on the Multipla; jacking up the car, removing the wheel, support the arm below the shocker and under the spring. Remove the bush retaining bolt and pivot (around the bottom shocker bolt) the arm down just few inches - if you see what I mean.
It looks as if there is room, obviously a few things will have to be disconnected and watch any solid brake pipes etc. but it could make it a reasonably quick job in comparison to removing the whole trailing arm.
Both sides could be done for ~£70 plus some time, local garage want £200 a side min. Fiat £300+ . So @ £4-600 its worth a try - any help out there?
