Hi, :)

Im looking for some advice and hope someone can help as I can't get my head round the CD based, manual.

I am in the final stages of fitting a second hand engine into my 2000 Multipla and would just like to check a few thinks before I try to turn her over for the first time.

a) Do I need to prime the fuel injection system before turning the key or will the cars own fuel pump, repressurise the system.

b) Most of the oil was lost when transporting the second hand engine so it has been lying dry for the past two weeks.

I intend to take the cam cover off to to librally introduce fresh oil. Is this necisarry or will the oil pump distribute oil quick enough without the danger of causing any damage. I will of course, disconnect the fuel pump so that there is no chance of it firing up.

Lastly, The Air Conditioning system was depressurized and fluid was lost. I assume that there would be no problem in driving the car until I can get it sorted.

Any suggestions most welcome.

Thank you (y)

1) turn ignition on 3 or 4 times for about 10 seconds each time, this will prime the diesel pump.
2) putting oil in the oil filler will be fine with out removing rocker cover.
3) no problame starting or running engine with air con not gassed up as the compressor wont cut in due to low or no pressure..........:
