Hi all,
God willing I'll be picking up my first Multipla just in time for Chrimbo - 1.9 JTD ELX :) :)

However some of the horror stories I've been reading on this site are causing me a bit of concern - especially the leaking sunroofs. Is this a major problem or have a few people just been a bit unlucky?

Any other advice or things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

Also...

I've heard that there is / was an option to replace the center front seat with a cooler storeage box which would be ideal for day's out / camping etc. Obviously mine's just got the standard 6 seats, so is this unit easily available - I've had a look round the net but not found anything???

Lastly... :)

Has anyone got any advice about adding a towbar to the back to tow a small trailer or (god forbid the missus talks me into it) a small caravan?

Regards

Jon...

Hi Jon,

I bought a 105JTD elx 2 months ago now, it had the coolbox in front centre. We actually wanted the 6 seats, so we got it swapped over, we still have the coolbox if ever you'd like it.

My front sunroof has leaked a little a while ago, but seems to be ok now, fingers crossed. :)

The Fiat cool box is (as I'm sure you realise) a more or less permanent substitute for a seat. For our camping trips we use an Electrolux 3-way fridge (runs on gas/12v/240v), IIRC the cost was £150-200 from our local camping retailer and it is a perfect fit in place of the centre rear seat - check the dimensions to make sure you get the right one!

Welcome to the world of Multiplas,

You could always use the extra lighter socket in the boot as a power point for a small 12v fridge in the boot rather than sacrifice use of a seat.

The sunroof issue - I have had mine leak but this was easily solved by getting sealant put onto the sunroof rubber

I had a towbar fitted with removable hook and it tows a small caravan very easily, no need for those horrible looking towing mirrors
