Can anyone enlighten me as to what the letters and numbers after multipla mean?
I know mine is a jtd eleganza. But then when I look for parts I’m asked if it is a 120 or 186 or various other post nominals.... the log book doesn’t reveal much.

Numbers often quoted could be

Engine power output..

Or bodystyle

120 is the engine hp (or PS?). '186' signifies the engine type - a 1.9 jtd. The numbers and letters immediately after 186 then define the variant. I think mine (a roundnose JTD 115) is an A8, but the 120 which is a multijet is an A9?

So the numbers are just differnt ways of saying the same thing. Sometimes you'll see a generic listing such as AX for the suffix. I take it the X signifies that the part is suitable for both an '8' and a '9'. But I could well be wrong...
