I had same issue a couple of years back when I resurrected my dads Multipla that been stood for five or six years and not started for around four. Did all the earths, new battery, stripped starter only to find it would turn by hand in the opposite to running direction, auxiliary belt removed and it turned over - alternator had seized but pulley clutch free.
Next issue was no fuel to injectors - nothing into or out of HP pump, diesel in tank had turned to sticky substance that smelt like paint and in tank pump jammed, had to clean out tank internally of all traces, HP pump also shot... in the end we fitted a secondhand engine and gearbox as HP pump duff, we replaced cambelt and fitted new clucth/DMF and replaced all anti-roll bar mounts whilst it was all in bits..
Front brakes needed no work after all those years stood, hardly any rust on discs, have been stripped and inspected but now but no parts replaced (more than you can say for a six month old Land Rover Discovery Sport or Evoque!!)
