Hi all, can anyone tell me the changeover point between 'early' and 'late' subframes? Alternatively, has anyone fitted an early frame to a late car or vide versa?? Member 'parts world' posted many years ago that he thought 2003 was the changeover year, but it would make more sense if it were late 2004 with the introduction of the mk2. I have two sick (diesel) Multis, both with subframe problems (a Mk1 and a Mk2) and would like to be armed with the correct info. Any help very gratefully received!

Early ugly/interesting have a bracket for a brake load sensing valve for non abs braking systems- as far as I am aware every multipla officially imported into UK had abs braking system.

Later facelift/ boring no load sensing valve bracket.

Fitted a boring subframe to my interesting multipla.

Have refurbished and fitted three multipla sub frames to three different multiplas.

Cheers Jack

I wasn't aware there was any difference between them. Dunno where I've been but I must have been asleep, I rebuilt 2 ugly subs and didn't notice!
Hang on - both were 04's so I wouldn't have would I?

Time to go back to sleep I think :)

Looking for a used subframe for a 2006 1.9 multi but no luck so fsr and car is now off the road. Any ideas where i can source one. Other than thst she had to go to the scrappers after owning from new ?

Can't you just replace the radius arm bearings or is there another issue?
I have a subframe from a 2000 X reg that needs new bearings, its fitted with drum brakes but maybe you can convert discs, just taking up space if its off use to anyone get it touch ?
