General Well, it's happened!

Hello boy's n gel's, trusty ole blue failed it's MOT this morning, off side jacking point and under cill are rusty and look like a colander.
Looks like it might be a one way trip to the canning factory for the ole gel.
Sad day, it's bin a bloody good ole shed. Anybody floggin one? Need a replacement PDQ.

Sad news. Where are you in the country? Had heard of one needing a clutch around the dartford area. Wanted scrap money for it.

Have a lead from another forum. 2003 with about 180k. The owner says

'has a front offside top mount which has failed, and there's what I believe to be an oil leak on an intercooler pipe so this one may very well be on its last legs. The engine is sweet as a nut though and all the electrics*work including the twin sunroofs which have the added bonus of being water tight!

Oh that and the*clutch is pretty heavy and can be noisy when cold...'

I don't think they're selling immediately but I got the impression that it would be for sale this year. If you're interested let me know.

Get it welded up, the bottoms of both outer outrigger/sills needed welding on mine, its just a box section and it probably only need bottom and part of one side doing, I bought some ready made angle section quite cheaply and got a mate to weld it. Much cheaper than buying another Multipla with unknown problems..

Thanks for the replies comrades and fellow carriers of m/t wallets, I don't really wanna have me brekky openin a Fiat Ugly bug can, so our kid's gonna have a butchers. He said it's too good to make bean tins, we'll have a go asap.
A mate of mine's got a VW Passat that I can use for a few days (says he don''t mind slumming it in his Merc )
Looking at the under rail/sill it does look bad, but I'm no welder and it's really is bad in the corner under the drivers door - near the jacking point, there's only rusty holes to look thru :yuck:
I'll get some pictures tomorrow, it ain't a pretty sight.
It only seems like yesterday since I rebuild all the R-send.

Thankfully, Dave came down this evening and had a butchers. It's only a bit cut n weld, we'll have in done in a day or two he says. Get all the plastic out the way, jack it up to give us room and we'll get cracking tomorrow.

Looks like she'll live to see another day. . .

I'm havin a crap time wi me camra, got some pictures but they ay up lo-din.
I'll hav another butchers an c if i can sort it out, they're worth seein cuz the b4 n afta is like wow!
Notice I've taken spelling and grammatical lessons from my teenage daughter, just to make sure you understand that I haven't complete lost my marbles.
