DOORS OPEN warning comes on every time I drive off, no doors are open and the interior lights and central locking all work fine, DOES anyone know which wire on the back of the instrument cluster is the trigger for this warning? The CD Rom manual is pretty poor and refers to there being three connectors A B C on the cluster but mine only has two! I did find it once under 'operation' but damned if I can find it again :bang:
Have to press button on instruments every time to clear message ad beeping

As everything else works i'm loath to start pulling plugs out of ECU's etc.

The remote key is broken so can only lock and unlock the doors using the key in door barrels, not got round to replacing key and coding in. I have never seen the red light flash on the facia. Car was parked up for a few years but previous to this the warning worked properly, can only assume damp of corrosion in some thing somewhere, the warning did stop coming on for a few days a month or so back.

I have no idea, assumed the remote key fob would operate it and as this doesn't work I assume the alarm is not being armed/disarmed, not keen on pulling the plugs off the alarm unit itself incase it upsets something else. Does the signal to the instrument cluster come from the alarm sounder under the bonnet or the ecu near the dashboard fuse box? A proper paper workshop manual would be a great help!

Long time since I had my Multi, but if I remember right, just check that the bonnet is shut. I think this all triggers the doors open indicator. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Panda :D

There is often issues with the micro switch on the tailgate, which may cause the car to believe it's open. Do any of the courtesy lights stay illuminated, including the one in the boot?

Can you bypass with a link wire some of switches and see if you get a change to help you find what's going on?

If you do end up mucking about with the alarm...

If using key only then no alarm. I took alarm out on mine, by pulling plugs on unit in engine without any issues on running car. It is not part of immobiliser.
Until the alarm internal battery runs down it makes a noise though ... Old towel?

Check battery earth ?
Good hunting

This is the one I was thinking of. Even if the bonnet is shut, the switch itself can have a bad contact and may need 'exercising' with some WD40. The door symbol on the dash will light regardless of whether it's a door, the bonnet or tailgate that isn't registered as shut, but the number of flashes from the dash LED does pin it down to the precise culprit.

The interior lights all work properly and the boot light is going off, I heard somewhere that there is a separate switch for the boot opening warning but i've not found one, I think the next step is to have a look at the bonnet switch and go from there.
Thanks for all your help so far ?

Hi. I have door open warning beep and light when accelerating, decelerating and going over the bumps. I unplugged all doors and still there. Is boot lit equipped with the door swith? If you leave the boot open and try to pull out will it tell you that the door is open?

Can I replace only the switch? Or do I need the whole lock?

Yes. That is what I ended up doing. But I fixed the switch instead. See how long it will last... It was boot lock. Thanks
