Hello.

I just entered the magic world of Multipla ownership.
When I turn on the indicator stalk to turn left, it only flashes when I am not pressing the brake pedal.
The right indicator and hazard lights work perfectly.
At the same time, each time I press the brake pedal the for light button lights up in the dashboard. Odd.

Any hints as to where to start looking?

If working on rear lights, 3 bolts lets you take it out completely ... very hard to work on them if in situ.

You've got an earth fault. Check that the earth connections for the rear lights are good - if need be, get another length of wire and use it to temporarily add an earth from the battery negative to the body (anywhere in the engine bay will do) and another wire in behind the cover panels in the left and right hand side of the boot, that give access to the backs of the rear light clusters.

You can also go here:

and scroll down to the Electrics section, where you'll find an "EarthingProblems" PDF that may be useful.
