Where's a good place to start with figures for how much a multi is worth? We've decided to bite the bullet and move on, looks like an 18month Hyundai i800 is the vehicle of choice so we end up with a couple of spare seats for our family of 6. (If anyone here has any feedback on the i800 I'd listen to that too of course!)

Multi is not in the best of nick, but recently had new clutch and new oil sump, and rear suspension was sorted out last year. Downsides are the car doesn't lock, rear wash wipe is broken, the window seals are all loose, some internal plastic bits are broken, there's an ECU fault which would be triggered if driven over 3000rpm (fault cleared through an ODBII adaptor).

I can't see it being appealing as a part-ex prospect to a second hand car supermarket, and webuyanycar reckons £250 max. Is the best bet ebay these days (and of course, the classifieds here), or is something like Autotrader better? I'm something of an honest advertiser, I wouldn't want anyone to walk away with what they thought was a bargain.

(Sorry if this sounds like an ad, I'm not trying to circumvent the classifieds process etc, genuinely just after some advice from those experienced with this car).

Hi.Sadly, Ebay is now awash with timewasters who bid on things and then don't turn up,although putting your Multi up as a classified advert would cut most of that out. It sounds like yours has had some of the major faults rectified so it may be a good project for someone who has the ability and time to rectify the issues described, especially if the bodywork is sound. I'd put it on here for a few weeks and then on Gumtree, both of which are free, with say a £400 ono asking price. We buy any car, although on line offer £250, in reality, when you take it to their depot I'd bet they'll then adjust that down to £150.

Deal is done, picking up an i800 next weekend. £300 trade in, I never walk away feeling I've got the best deal in the world, but it's a workable one and we'll have more space than ever now.

A shame that Fiat didn't continue the Multi, we'd have bought another without a thought. Though I did always wish they made a longer wheel-base version, just another 30cm or so would have transformed the load capacity.

Good bye old friend; your 114k miles have served us well!
