I can't find anyone locally to sort my dead car, code error light came on when I was driving and the engine died. It turns over fine but the RAC man said there was no feed to the ECU. I've tried replacing the relay in the box by the battery but with no result.
It will mean big tow fee in any case if i do find a garage that will take the job on, several have declined.
Anyone out there fancy a dead bug for scrap value (£130) ? collect from sw wilts very near the A303.
either that or tell me some magic way of breathing life back into it.

I don't know, auto electrics is a mystery to me and I don't have any means of checking. I don't even know where the ecu is.

I've found a multimeter and checked the red relay ( with fuse no.90 location C3 in the case next to battery ) probed the connectors under it with ignition on and error code light on; there is no voltage across either pair of contacts.
There was across the adjacent red relay C2 ( ABS)

I don't recognise "fuse no.90" - Multipla fuse numbering runs up to the low 30's in all of the diagrams I've seen. Can you post a photo of the relay (and fuse) in question, with enough of its engine bay surroundings to be able to place it? There are 3 fuse boxes in the engine bay from what I can remember. Then perhaps someone will be able to identify and better still tell you to which fuse the low-side terminals of the relay are connected.

Is anything else electrical not working?

Have you had a look at "UnderbonnetFuseLocationsandFunctions" in the Electrics section here?:

Go to the last page, bottom right hand corner of the last photo. Is the 7.5A ignition switch fuse blown?

The numbering references are to a document here.
nick.hostwith.me.uk/multipla/multiplafuselocations.doc
I thought that doc was on this site but apparently not, don't know where I found the link.

My fusebox is like this, the black relay on the left is the cooling fan I think, the fan came on when the RAC man was tinkering at that end of the fusebox.

I'll get a focused photo when it's light tomorrow

my handbook shows this arrangement with 1 being lamda sensor heater, 2 is abs control, 3 is CODE for the 1.6 engine, 4 fan relay coils and 5 is headlamp washer pump

Of course, being a FIAT the car layout and the diagram are completely different.

I'm confused.
