Re: Radiator fan not working.

I can see that many have read my post, but no one have a command.

What I more specific need help for is the elektronic to turn on the fan, I do not know so much about such things. Are their any relay under the dash which maybe I need to change? Has anyone a wiring diagram which can help me understand the wiring of the fan.

I did have a Golf mk2 before, at it was more simple, there was a sensor
screwed into the radiator.

On my diesel multipla one wire to the fan motor is constantly +ve
There is a relay that the ECU turns on when engine needs cooling. The relay connects the other wire to fan motor to vehicle body. The relay on diesel multipla is in box near battery.
Use a volt meter between battery -ve and then each wire in turn where they connect to fan motor.
If you do not read battery volts at one of the wires then it is likely you have a burnt out fuse.
Yes I have read you checked the fan fuse but it is possible that you have checked the wrong fuse due to handbook being confusing.
Plus you said your fan short circuiting which would definitely blow a fuse.

In the meantime buy and fit a working fan motor and see if that works.

Anyone else with petrol multi who knows which is fan fuse 100% please jump in.

Re: Radiator fan not working.

Hi All.

I have bought a new use fan, and tried to connect it directly to the battery and it did run, but it did not start when the engine began to overhead.

Jackwhoo did mention the fuse box beside the battery, I did check all the fuses, but none of them was bad, their is something with I think is relays, but I am not sure.

What could I do next to solve the problem.

Re: Radiator fan not working.

Hi Jackwhoo and thanks for your help.

I did connect the + from the battery to the fan wire, and there is power.

Re: Radiator fan not working.

Hi All. I just did get my Multipla from the mechanic, he did tell me that the fault with the fan was a bad wire.
