Went to the local car auction, stuck my hand up in the air and came home with this Fiat Multipla for only £200 out the door
eek.gif

discovered it had a hole in the sump heater fan didn't work and gear change is very stiff (sold as a non runner)
Well after doing the above jobs, thanks to all the folk on here who helped me out.
I have to say although very ugly I quite like the old girl, she drives very well indeed with no other issues, electric everything all working fine including all 4 windows, twin sunroofs, folding mirrors, (ELX model) folding mirrors and as a bonus she has a tow bar fitted

She has an MOT until September and history up to 116,000 she has 122,00 on now history shows £875 spent on last years MOT including drop links front and rear bottom arms both sides have also been done so I am hoping she will fly past her next MOT with flying colours.

Will let the following pictures do the talking.....

Really must take the auctions numbers off the windscreen Bristol Street PX

bet you're one of those people that if they fell in a pile of crap you'd come out smelling of roses ;) , 200 squid i think you've landed on your feet there , well done mate (y)

It doesn't always work out that way for me, but I must admit I did get lucky on this occasion.
Just filled her up with diesel £80 thought the fuel tank had a hole in it along with the sump LOL will do a brim to brim test and see what sort of return I get...mind you it may take a while as I don't travel much these days except to work and back and around the doors, will keep you posted on the results.

To quote a line from Life of Brian . . . "Oooh you lucky ba**ard!" (y)

Even if it hadn't been a good-un, you could easily have made back many times the cost, just selling parts off it!

You've officially been bitten by the 'Ugly-Bug Bug' now, there's no hope! :p

I'm on my second one, first time in 36+ years of driving that I've been compelled to buy the same model twice in a row.

How did you remove the old sump
I'm trying to remove one now
All bolts out but won't come off

Are you sure you got all the bolts out check carefully
also it will need a bit of prising off I used a screwdriver and mallet and gently taped until I broke the seal
once it's loose it will drop about 2 inches then you need to use a 11mm spanner to disconnect the pick up pipe inside the sump it's tricky but do able even trickier when trying to re fit the new sump
hope this helps.....

That's almost identical to mine. Got yourself a bit of a bargain there (y) . Lowish mileage and it doesn't look like it's been abused either. Is it a keeper or are you going to sell it on & make a killing?

Brim full, you should expect about 600-650 miles to a tankful.

2 from gear box
2 little ones on opposite end to box
Big ones at front and back
Exhaust hanger
Steering rack cradle long bolt 13mm head and but
Is that them all?

I intend to keep it for now, my other daily drive is a Volvo V70 T5 2.3 I get about 26 to the gallon if driven sensible so to have even 40MPG out the Fiat is great even if it is pretty boring to drive.

That sounds about right, is the sump moving at all ?? has it dropped ??
have a look at the thread above this one about sump replacement I have added some pictures of mine which might help you out
cheers.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread
I've a 115 sump to change and I'm reading that there are 2 very inaccessible bolts that need 5inch long skinny ribe keys to go through some slot in the flywheel. (Sorry can't actually look under car as it's sat miles away awaiting me to rescue it).
Marty.

It's the two RIBE bolts that fix the sump to the rear engine oil seal carrier. As you say you'll need a long RIBE bit (I've never seen one long enough), or a ¼" drive extension bar, socket and bit.
