Recently the airbag warning light has come on and stays on.

Looking through the stilo and other forums, it seems that there could be a problem with the wiring, a seat belt pre-tensioner, a sensor causing this.

Have you any advice as to where the connectors are (as my suspicion is that the connections are the first thing to fail, followed by the wiring).

Any other pointers.

Thanks,
John

Hi,

We have had the same problem on our 53 jtd, it's been back to the dealer 3 or 4 times!
The connectors are tucked away under the drivers seat and it appears to relate to the side airbags. Eventually the warning light stays on which means a trip to the dealer to reset it all. I asked to have it disconnected but was told this was'nt allowed for safety reasons!
The reason I have been given is that by moving the seat back and forth for different drivers has affected the connections!! Great design. If it happens again they are going to replace the whole loom.

Hope this helps

Hi

We had (have) the same problem on our 52 JTD. It is a connector that keeps coming loose under the passenger airbag. Sometimes we can get it to go off bu slamming the passenger side top storage compartment shut. Has been back to dealer twice but it only fixes it for a few weeks so we are now fed-up with taking it back and put up with it. (Sometimes it stays off for a week or so anyway, the rest of the time it's on and off daily)

Regards

I have same problem but I found by cable tiying the wiring under the driver seat to stop it moving or being kicked by the rear passenager, has put it out,It can also be the seat belt tesioner try pulling it hard a few times.
It most definate a loose connetion.
My was intermitant though, if the above does not help it could be a fault with the airbag, thats a dealer job
