My misses just came home and said 'something just fell of the car', it turned out to be the outside of the crankshaft pulley. The rubber had perished and the outside of the pulley fell off, but the belt still ran round the inner piece! So after much reading of this forum I replaced the pulley. I put a 15mm spanner on the tensioner pulley, and with a bar on the end of the spanner, to remove the tension, wedge the spanner 'up'..thus removing the belt tension. Enabling me to remove the pulley and fit a new one without the need of a third hand.The whole job only took me 1 1/2 hrs...thanks to this forum...the old multi runs fine again now.
