Our Multipla had a new front wheel bearing in February (after about 100,000 miles), but it had to be replaced again, yesterday. Any suggestions as to what might cause premature wear, if the bearing was not faulty ?

The garage has sent the bearing back, under warranty, and has not charged me, but I am concerned that something else may have caused premature wear of the wheel bearing, rather than a fault with the bearing itself.

The original wheel bearing was badly worn, and the flange also needed to be replaced, so could there be wear or damage to other parts which has accelerated wear in the new wheel bearing ?

. . . Any suggestions as to what might cause premature wear, if the bearing was not faulty? . . .
If it wore (out) so quickly, then I'd say that would point to a faulty Bearing (y)
Either it wasn't lubricated, it missed the hardening process at manufacture, or it was a super low-quality knock-off item.

Other causes could be;
Incorrect fitting, i.e. under/over-tightening.
'Bodged' fitting, e.g. being hammered into place.
Contamination with foreign matter (dirt, grit, etc).
Misalignment, unlikely in this case.
