My temp repair on my front flexi pipe is failing, as my MOT is looming, will have to bite the bullet in replacing. Best quote I have had is £295.00 fitted.

Getting this flexi front pipe is proving immensely difficult.Plenty of front pipes for a JTD, for a Multijet with DPF seems impossible. Unless I am missing something !

Any idea's ??

If the rest of the pipe section is OK, I'd get the cheapest replacement for a pre-2005 model (£37 delivered for mine), chop the flexy section out of both, and weld the new bit into the old pipe.
Even if you factor in getting it welded by someone else, you'd still be quids-in.

Or, find some suitable pipe to make sleeves from, and you won't need a welder, just seal and clamp them together.

Was thinking about buying a pre 2005 front pipe and hacking off 1 end, so that I could reuse the 3 bolt flange, as 2008 models have a 3 bolt flange at each end,

Just spoken to my friendly dealer and had advised me that it is possible to modify a >2005 front pipe and reuse the <2008+ 3 hole flange, but the bends will also need to be bended as well so that it will fit easily to the DPF flange as the latter ( 2005 ) just fits to the mid silencer.

This just gets more and more complicated. My Multijet 2008 part for mine is 51770422 and for a >2005 JTD is 46767697.

Re: I need a 2008 flexi front exhaust pipe ? Who has them ?

I thought I would just bump this, to see if a cheaper alternative flexi exists or whether it would have to be a bodge job with a £40 >2005 part

No cheaper alternative.

Either buy a Pre 2005 flexi front pipe and modify the flanges and properly re bend the elbows and modify the lambda sensor socket if required or purchase a new flexi from a stealer.

No other choices I'm afraid.
