Just replaced my crank pulley.
The old one looked fine but was rattling a lot.
Does anyone know what the bolts need torqued to.
Thought it was 25nm but this seems not tight enough...

Looks like 25Nm to me, too:

After having this fitted for only a couple of weeks it has started to rattle when you take off in low revs.
It also clatters when you start the motor up.
Bloody annoying...

There are a few other things that can rattle in that area, are you sure it's the Pulley itself?
Could just be a coincidence that something else has started to rattle now, possibly something you disturbed when replacing the Pulley and refitting the Aux Drive Belt.

If I put the old one back on the noise is gone.
The old one is very perished so that's why I changed it. Plus it was noisy too.
I have replaced tensioner and idler as well.
Only clunks when you pull away.

Just fitted another brand new pulley from same company.
Does exactly the same. Clunking when you pull away.
Aarrgghhhh

Aarrgghhhh indeed!

Only thing I can think of is that maybe the Bolt holes in the Pulley are a little too big, and the Pulley is moving back and forth on the Bolts?
Unlikely, but not impossible given the low-ish Torque figure for them...

Probably no help, but I had the same, and I replaced the pulley, but the remaining noise was the alternator, which had a casing crack that expanded when pulling away and caused play in the belt and associated noise, is there any vibration on tickover ?

What bolts are you using to fit the new pulley? There was a change in the design of the pulley by Fiat. The two are interchangeable, but the newer design has a depressed centre section and needs shorter bolts. If you use the old (longer) bolts with a new-style pulley, the bolts bottom out in the tapped holes before they tighten onto the pulley.

The new pulley is same style as old pulley. No recessed center so long bolts required.
Alternator, power steering and aircon all seem ok.
The noise dissapears when the old pulley put back on. The old pulley is a bit perished and was a little bit noisy when the car is started from cold, so this is why I changed it.
New ones are same design, they are 36 pound of fleabay.
It does seem funny that 2 new ones are doing the same.
25 nm doesn't seem very tight though.
It clatters when you start it, then goes away at idle. Then when you put it in gear and start to pull away it clatters again until you are driving then it's okay.
If you stop and go into reverse it clatters again..

Is it a clatter, or more like a coarse 'chirping' sound (best way I can describe it).
Mine does that if you pull away with too few revs, I have to get the revs and Clutch-slipping 'just-right' to avoid it.
I always thought it was the Dual Mass Flywheel.

Chirping = DMF,

maybe give your drivebelts a check for tension then a light misting with a conditioner - dry belts can make quite a din.!!

It's a clattering sound.
If you rev it then you don't get the noise.
I have put the old one back on and the noise has gone.
The old one made a noise when started from cold and lasted about 5 mins.
Initially I thought it was the tensioner so I replaced this. Still got the noise so replaced the idler and belt. Still got the noise so replaced the crank pulley. Noise is now gone when starting but does this clattering when you pull off or start going in reverse. Sounds really bad.
