Go for it then.. Tuning and customisation is a personal thing and one man's muck is another man's brass so to speak..
Maybe you could get a few photos of the install and maybe a video on youtube showing how you did it, be interesting to look at..

But why? Performance will be lost due to heat soak.
You already have a CAI just under the bonet (well, its there on a derv).

Lets put it like this... I took my K&N cone and CAI off my Celica in favor of a K&N panel within the original air box.

No heat soak and 90% reduced risk of sucking in water. No one needs hydro lock....

I've run it in to the front wheel arch it's not got wet yet it sounds smart and throttle response is out of this world
