My tailate will not open by hand electronically by hand grab point. I have tried central locking then unlocking. It did work a few times but now will not. Boot release by drivers seat will make mechanism work but immediately locks it again. Can just open with key.
I think I know what has caused this. My rear washer does not fire water. But it is leaking from back panel when activated, so suspect split pie or such. Obviously water has got into central locking there. Thus don't use it now.
What will be the best fix for sorting lock release, new relay etc?
Clueless.

ALSO. My weather temp digits only show now and again when starting ignition. If there on start up they stay, if not at start up, they won't show???

Thanks in advance.

IIRC, external temp sensor is in a bump under the drivers mirror, check the cabling to the sensor and try cleaning the connections.

The lock mechanism on the tailgate can be removed and cleaned/lubricated, obviously you'll need to sort the leak first.

Mechanism not problem on tailgate! can open easy with key. It's an electrical issue! Thanks for reply

The lock mechanism has a solenoid which is triggered by an electrical signal from either the remote locking or the tailgate handle (Microswitch).

If the lock isn't working properly it's probably the solenoid mechanism that needs cleaning/lubricating, however the microswitch incorporated in the tailgate handle is also prone to failure (Especially if it gets corroded due to water ingress).

Alternatively, there are a few complete tailgate assemblies on Evilbay, if they've got your colour it's worth a thought?
