How do you go about removing an outer CV joint on the JTD?

Do you need to replace it or new gaiter?
I've done quite a few(not the multi tho) but I always pull the driveshaft out of the box and then do whatever needs doing on the bench.
(gearbox oil will follow)
If it's kerbside and you try get it off driveshaft you'll probably pull it out of the box anyway with all the tugging.
Driverside shaft will be held in position so won't be prone to this.
There usually held in place with a circlip...bend joint fully and whack with a plastic/copper hammer.
If it's just the gaiter there's such a thing as a split booth... Wheel off only job and they work well.
