Has anyone refurbished or repaired the interior plastics for the multi?
Mine are all scratched, have gauges etc.
I was thinking that I may have a bash at refurbing and painting them. Give em a good sand down, prime and paint.
I know the centre consoles have been done, but was wondering if anyone had done the trays, handles and trim.

Hi I have managed to do a good job on the cup holder!!! I used acetone and a lot of elbow grease. There are two layers of stuff to get off but after it matches the rest of the trim.
Don't ask about ding the same thing with the radio.
The rest of the trim door handles etc I just used a plastic cleaner and they came up ok.

I'll be doing mine next week, just got to decide on colours or wether to stay with gray

See, I was thinking blue to match the interior. Same with the centre console, mirror and stalk and the surrounds for elec minors, sunroof etc.
I thought maybe plasticote as that'll fill the imperfections.

In the absence of any links, tips, etc I have decided to hit the ground running with this and will do a step by step guide myself so if anyone else decides to have a crack at it, they'll have some reference.
Before you do attempt to paint plastics, YouTube has some good videos on how to prep and what's needed.
Wish me luck.

Cheers Pete. Had the back handles and surrounds off for a good old clean and soak.
*Sharp intake of breath* here we go. Lol.

How do you attach pics, I want to show my handy work. I've also produced a guide in the Misc section of guides on painting plastics.

You can either click on 'Go Advanced' and then look for the paperclip button (you'll then have to browse to the files on your computer and upload them), or you can set up an account on Photobucket (other hosting sites are available :D), upload your photos there and then copy and paste the image links from the Photobucket site into your post.

The second way is a bit more hassle, but the pictures will load faster on the web page and the options for changing the pictures (if you ever need to) are more flexible.

ta daaaa...

Thanks. It's the first time I've ever sprayed anything so its nice to hear some positive things.
Next up on the hitlist are the picnic trays. Although I'm buggered if I can figure out how to get them off.

Me again...
So, today I finally managed to complete the dreaded cup holder :slayer:, thus concluding my Centre Console. :woot: and bedded the heatdunot properly.
I've also done the interior light surrounds... they were fun :bang:

Anyway, I've attached a pic for your thoughts.

Oh please don't say that. I did think I'd do it, but the mrs said it'd be too busy in there... It is tempting but I've got other bits to do. Like full service, prob cam, although it looks fine and relatively new, there's paint missing on the roof and the bonet could do with a tidy.
Did fiat or anyone make a mask for the front end of the multi?
