There are 2 pumps on the reservoir. I must sort for MOT.
One pump goes both to front and rear windshields. The other is for the lights. No noise suggests that both are not working. I have read that the relay/fuses supply power to wipers, too. Therefore can work out it isn't an electrical fault. Is this thinking wrong? It's a horrible job getting to the bottle I have to say. Question would the headlamp washer pump make a noise?

the headlight washers only work when the lights are on, have you tried this?

Thank you....good point. I am trying to work out if I can avoid the horror of a pump replacement. The relays I understand are under the steering column. The silence from what was normally a loud whirring of the pumps suggest they are dead. But to be sure I was wondering if the wipers work does this suggest that the relay and fuse for the windshield pump is functioning – ie dead pumps (they are 7 years old)!! Cheers

If its a ugly bug multi elx then removal of the washer pumps is easy!!
Just remove the fog lamp and voila the 2 pumps are there!
