hello can anyone help, does anyone know if the selector can come out of the gear box with out removing the gearbox has it has snapped right above it:confused:, it has snapped and wanted to get it welded for a cheap fix??

Have you got a photo of the snapped part? The bit connected to the gearbox is pretty thick. I'm struggling to see how it's stapped. I've got a good fix if the cable have snapped. Throw up a picture for us to examine.

yeah its the thick part that has snapped right ontop of the gear box just wondered if you can take that shaft out while the gearbox is in for fabrication and welding, there are to ten mil bolts that hold the shaft in situ i undone them but it only raises the shaft about an inch so no room to weld properly

Wowee! How did you snap that?
I had my gearbox off weeks ago but didn't try to pull this out so am not sure, I'm afraid. I've had a look on my eLearn disc and that doesn't suggest an answer either I'm afraid.

My friends selector snapped sounds like the same thing its where the arm is welded to the shaft I helped him out by rebuilding his existing gearbox bad news is yes its box out and strip good news is parts were quite cheap arm was £40 plus theres plastic bushes a clip, nuts etc think parts were around £100 , cant really weld it as I think the bushes would melt.
