I've invested in a cable and downloaded fiatecuscan in order to eliminate my airbag light. The problem is 'passenger seat squib' (or, more likely, the wiring going to it).

It's not the under-seat connectors. It's elsewhere in the loom.

Does anyone know where the wiring goes from under the seat?

And where the easiest access is to check the connectors?

Is it under the dash - can I get to it from above / below etc?

Any info would be of real help, ta.

Hi rnhobbs, did you get anywhere fixing this? Sounds like I've got the same problem.
Thanks!

I had to rip the connectors off under the seat, strip back the wires, solder them as a permanent joint, heat-shrink insulate them and then I insulated them again with some diesel spill-off pipe and a few cable ties just to be safe.

The light stayed on and it wouldn't turn off with fiatecuscan. However, using the multipla has helped, the light was gradually on less and less after using it a few times. I did the work a few days ago and it's only on for 5% of the time now (and falling), it was on 100% of the time.

I'm sure my work won't win any fans with the Fiat technicians that come on here. But I now have a working airbag system and a Fiat that will pass an MoT.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the that. I've changed the connector so I'll see what happens. One of the wires (black) to the connector was much shorter than the others (case of 'that'll do' at the factory!?) and I wonder if it has been stretched at some point.

Turns out one of the connectors to the main passenger airbag was 'bad'. I popped open the cover (levers off easily with screwdriver) and had a look. The two yellow connectors looked fine but giving them a wiggle (technical!) put the airbag light out for the first time in about two years. Result!
