Hello again.
My 04 115 jtd is flat when accelerating from about 1900 to 2000 rpm. Any ideas? Could it possibly be the EGR valve sticking when it opens/closes?

Thanks
Andy

I had the same problem with mine and disconnected the Mass Air Flow Meter Sensor to see if that was the problem, which it was. I left it disconnected for a couple of days, which did bring up the engine management warning light but the flat spot went.

I reconnected it, as apparently it's not a good idea to run it disconnected for a long time, and then left the ignition at stage 1- all the lights on but not firing it up- for a couple of minutes whcih clears the EMS warning light.

Since then I've not had a repetition of the flat spot. I don't know if the process of disconnecting it has somehow re-set the sensor or what but it runs fine now. It only takes seconds to disconnect the sensor and you'll know very quickly if it is the sensor that's faulty.

If you need to replace the sensor I've been strongly advised to avoid cheap ones on places like Ebay, look for the Bosch ones. Be careful though as mine's an 04 plate too and takes a different air flow meter to earlier models, which are typically twice the price, about £180. Forget Fiat, my local dealer quoted me £270 for a reconditioned one. Yeah right.......................
