Technical 105 JTD Glow Plug lamp

The glow plug light flashes occasionally after start up for serveral seconds. Sometimes it does, sometimes not! Any ideas?

if it's just on cold days, it's nothing to worry about - if it's on stinking hot days like this then maybe there's a problem - i dunno it's probably just heating up - diesels do that... my dad's VW Passat does that sometimes when it's a bit chilly...

Well documented...
Its almost certainly one or more glow plugs breaking down!
£8.50 each off the nett...need little bendy fingers to change as they are awkward!

Oh well - better late than never, like...

to check your glow plugs, remove the linking cable/bar, and use a stout bit of cable from the battery +ve and touch the end, if you get a healthy spark, its ok, if not its a dud, worked on my astra deisel
