Hi,

Bought my Multipla a month ago. The radio at that time was ok. Then it stopped working. This happened at the same time as I was fingering on the radio while driving (not to conscious of what I was doing, just excited to read and try through the menu).

Since then it has not worked and man, I've been giving it time. Then suddenly while driving this saturday, not touching anything on the radio, it starts. Worked all the way home, turned it on and off to make sure it would do the job which worked fine. Then the day after it was down again, not working.

Electricity problem? Radio is on all the time but makes no sound. Does not work when I place a cd in there too. Someone experienced the same?

I had exactly this problem with the original radio that was fitted to my car. It was the CD version (not tape) but I don't know that it's really relevant.

Starting the car, sometimes the radio would come on, other times not. When it did come on, occasionally it would go off whilst I was driving, then come back on again a few minutes later.

Assuming the radio unit itself was at fault, I bought a 'refurbed' cassette unit from Blaupunkt Germany off of ebay. It looked brand new - boxed and perfect condition. They still list them. However, this suffers the same problem, though far, far less frequently.

I conclude from this that the fault is somewhere in the cars wiring, possibly even the connector to the head unit, but how I trace/fix this I'm not sure.

As a matter of interest, when you turn the ignition on and the radio doesn't come on, do you get a dull 'thunk' out of the speakers just after you turn the key? That's what happens on mine.

I can't get the cassette unit to take an auxilliary input either :(. Does anyone know any tricks to get this working?
