Hi all,

Just thought I would give you some of my experiences recently with our 06 Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD 120.

Firstly the air bag ligth was on permanantly, took it to Fiat dealer and they wanted £50 just to plug it into a laptop. After reading some threads decided against that and just started wiggling the connections under seats. Got to front near side passenger seat orange connector block, wiggled it, turned ignition back on an voila no air bag light. Saving of £50 + any time Fiat dealer would have sepnt searching.

Second fuel filter change. Had read some threads on changing this whcih talked about vices, big pliers, local mechanic etc. Decided to have a go my self. Quick release pipe conenctors make this simple to remove, but do watch out for diesel splashing your eyes. Bought two large Boa's from B&Q and wihtin 5 mins fuel filter changed with no problems. Note however that on this model the cap should be screwed to 30Nm to tight to do by hand and could not have managed without the Boa's. Another £60 saved.

Lastly, off side wishbone bush needed replacing. Decided to replace the whole wishbone unit. This could have been an awkward job but once you have the old one off jack up the suspension and just take your time and be precise with bolts going back in so as not to cross thread them. 2/3 hours should do it depending on weather and breaks. Another £190 saved.

Moral is if you have a little time and patience and a bit of knowledge and are prepared to have a go you can save yourself a packet.

Good Luck:nerner:
