Can anyone tell me where the oil level sensor is located on an '04 115 JTD. I did an oil change today and the dipstick reads full but the dash display is showing "oil level too high". Thinking that I may have disturbed the sensor connector or got it contaminated when I drained the oil.
Any suggestions?

The same thing happen to me i over filled and had the same message "oil level to high" although the dipstick indicated the right level,i then drained a pint of oil to go under, this got rid of the message,then added oil bit by bit .reached the right level and no message appeared again.make sure you are on level ground.

ours does exactly the same if the dip stick is spot on maximum the dash message says too high. I ignore it and go by the dip stick reading.

Mine does exactly the same thing but it's intermittent. A common problem definately.

Mine does the same, everytime it comes back from it's full Service (which it just has) it says 'oil level too high' but the mechanic said he has checked it and the oil is not too high on the dipstick indicator!!!

Thanks for your replies. Left mine on full dipstick mark and the next day the oil level showed normal on the dash board. A dipstick never lies at the end of the day.

Anyone know where the sensor is? When I turn on my ignition I get the message 'oil level not available' I'm guessing a broken or discobnnected sensor.

from memory its around the back of the block in the sump. i think. been a while since i worked on one!

and yeah, you will get intermittent oil level too high messages. i used to get them all the time after servicing, but the level was spot on on the dipstick.

i used to find a 'vigorous' road test would cure said affliction!
