Went out to start me Ugly Bug this morning and it started with no prob's.
Ran for a couple of minutes and stopped.
Restarted ok, couple of minutes, stopped again.
Then not enough battery.
Out with old faithful - walked nippa to school...
Couple of hours later tried to start the car, turns over, sort of 'tried' to start, but doesn't.
Left it another 3 hours charging, still won't start - it does try, but not starting?

Anyone have any idea's

The temp inside showed -7 this morning and still shows -2

Any input will be well received

Cheers
George

hi there,
how fast was it turning over?
very cold did the heaters come on at dash for the 30 secs or so?
could be bad heater plugs or battery, for starting............
not running long..............when was your last service? bad fuel filters or pump.

Duh! Typical of me - forget me head if it was not bolted on - my Bug is 2002 1.6 ELX (petrol)

After some charging it spins over quite nicely - it does sort of try - a bit half hearted to be honest - then the top goes off the battery and its all over.

Mates coming in the morning to give it yank see if that gets it going, then I think a new battery would be wise.

Servicing: I do own at very regular intervals, it had all new kit approx 2500mls ago plugs, all filters, gear oil, torsion bar bushes (you can do your own if you REALLY want to) new discs and pads, new actuator/ adjusters and shoes on rear.
New Michellins on the front
I dont skimp on it, I like it right.

a good battery is a must.....esp this weather.....
